lessons from a grocery store

  1. The price of strawberries deserves its own Freakonomics episode: $2.50 at the bodega, $3 at the fruit cart, $4.50 at Whole Foods, $5 at the gourmet grocery store, $7 at the chain grocery store two doors down from the bodega. Go figure.
  2.  If you wear a blue fur coat while grocery shopping, people will look at you.
  3. Vegan goodies are not limited to the health nut havens. You just have to hunt hard and read carefully.
  4. Pretending you are in the Chanel AW14 show makes everything more delicious.
