soundtrack: go for it

The eighth of many Cool And Thoughtful playlists -- to inspire the courage you need to "go for it," whatever "it" may be for you. Because the growth of our lives are a function of the chances we take.

soundtrack: in love for a minute

The seventh of many Cool And Thoughtful playlists -- following up the idea that instead of "questing" for "forever love," you can be in love for an hour, three hours, a day, with some tunes to help make this real for us.

Putting special emphasis on the Eden Hagos 11 [Mix] playlist. Eden is a DJ for my favorite music collective, Soulection, and she is quickly becoming one of my most serious girl crushes. Of course this track is titled with magic number eleven, and I haven't stopped listening to this since it dropped in October. Skip ahead to ~18 minutes if you want to jump straight to the best part. I recommend listening to the whole thing first though...

"olé to you"

"...if you never happened to believe in the first place that the most extraordinary aspects of your being were not from you, but maybe if you just happened to believe that they are on loan to you from some unimaginable source for some exquisite portion of your life to be passed along when you're finished to somebody else. If we think about it this way it starts to change everything."

A magnificent talk that one of my favorite Mentor-Big-Sisters shared with me. I've always loved how Elizabeth Gilbert speaks. The point she makes here calls for us to be humble and open in our creativity, freeing us in the consideration that there may be something bigger than us at the source of our creativity, and validating us for the hard work we do to allow that spirit to arise.
